Solo Motorcycle camping adventure to Copper Canyon Mexico, Spring 03'
On the way to Creel. The roads are in good shape.
The closer I get to Creel the better the scenery. The navigation is fun around these parts. Rarely do you see any highway marker signs at connecting roads but you do see signs saying what town is down a road.

I came here for the nature, so I got out of Creel and headed toward the Tarahumara Indian co-op reserve, about 4 miles from Creel. It's 200 square kilometers of good hiking and camping. A $1.50 entrance fee was collected at the gate just off the main road. Another $1.50 fee is collected for camping from a guy who rides buy on bicycle. From here you can hike forever, if youre into that. On bike trips I like to plan physical activities, run, hike, swim. You can get that natural high plus you come back from a vacation in better shape and feeling better. ....I guess, anything for me to confirm that bike cruising is a good thing and I should continue with all my future planned trips. The most difficult part of planning a trip I think is the actual circling the date on a calendar saying this is when I will be leaving.
It was a long hike around the lake. I'm glad I had the camera.
Part way around the lake I ran into this guy. It was like I was his long lost best friend. I camped here two nights and he never left my side. He slept under my saddle bag, I think he was trying to show he was working for me as my guard dog, barking at the sight or sound of anyone. Vary well behaved though, I wish my two dogs would have behaved as good.
